🎼 EDISON Gramophone, a label devoted to preserving the heritage of classical music while building bridges toward the contemporary language of emotion, presents the new single by EL ALMA SONORA: “una rosa, te desgarra.”
🎹 Composed by Pedro Eleftheriou, the track is an intimate, romantic, and refined instrumental work — an acoustic ballad performed on guitar by Argentine guitarist Emi Franji, a long-time collaborator who has brought Eleftheriou’s music to life with a modern, sensitive, deeply human signature.
🕊️ In this recording, El Alma Sonora’s nostalgic universe unfolds with delicacy and intensity: between contemporary Latin American instrumental music, echoes of milonga, the elegance of a romantic neo-classical ballad, and subtle nuances of new age and world music, the piece creates a listening space where emotion is not ornament — it is substance. Emi Franji’s guitar narrates the feeling and the soul of the theme. His interpretation breathes like someone telling a story without haste, balancing spontaneity and structure, and letting each phrase carry the subtle weight of what is left unsaid.
🌹 THE POETIC AND EXISTENTIAL ESSENCE OF “UNA ROSA, TE DESGARRA”
“una rosa, te desgarra” is a contemporary milonga in the form of confession — a Latin American acoustic guitar ballad that moves between neo-classical romance and the intimate haze of new age, as if an entire city could fit inside a silent room. The theme is born from contrast: the poet writes to save himself, but each verse opens an old drawer. In searching for a soulmate — someone to surrender to without reserve — he also rediscovers the cost of surrender: the beauty of love and, at the same time, its power to break us. The harmony advances like remembrance: delicate, circular, gently nostalgic; and the guitar melody seems to touch not only strings, but memories — as if each note were an attempt to say, “I still believe,” even when the world insists on proving otherwise.
✨ The work deepens into an existential reflection on human limits: the real incomprehension that emerges when the ego — trained from early on toward self-satisfaction — becomes the autopilot of relationships. To see the other’s essence requires repeated presence, almost a spiritual exercise: a silent sacrifice, renewed at every instant, choosing care over impulse, listening over defense, truth over control. The poet realizes, as many of us do, that this is life’s challenge: sometimes there is a beginning again, sometimes it is too late. And then the metaphor is fulfilled with pain and clarity — the rose of love loses its perfume, withers, and what remains is not the dream, but the thorns: what tears us apart and, paradoxically, teaches maturity. “una rosa, te desgarra” is that exact instant — when beauty still shines in memory, but the heart already feels the cut.
🎸 THE PERFORMANCE: EMI FRANJI, THE GUITAR AS AN INNER VOICE
Emi Franji leads the piece with a sense of time that breathes: his touch is precise, never rigid; emotional, never excessive. The guitar appears as confession and as landscape — at times intimate like a whisper, at times wide as a nocturnal horizon. The interpretation does not pursue virtuosity as an end, but truth as a destination: making the listener forget difficulty in order to remember beauty, and recognize within the music what lives hidden in human relationships — the desire to love, and the fear of being hurt.
